In order to be eligible for admission to the University of Ilorin via U.M.E or Direct Entry, all applicants must possess credit in a minimum of two subjects selected from single Honours Programmes.

Additionally, candidates must possess a minimum of five credits (English Language included) earned in no more than two sittings of the GCE/SSCE/NECO/Equivalent. It is essential that these five subjects are pertinent to the selected course of study.

In general, all courses offered by the university have identical general entry requirements for Direct Entry candidates. When it comes to Advanced Level passes, the subjects that are pertinent to the selected course of study should be included.
FACULTY OF ARTS
ARABIC STUDIES
- A minimum of two passes at the ‘A’ level, with Arabic and any other arts or social science subject included.
- Five passes at the ‘O’ level, consisting of English Language, Arabic, and three additional Arts/Social Science subjects.
- A minimum of two ‘A’ level or NCE passes, one of which must be in Christian Religious Studies or another subject from the Arts or Social Sciences.
- Five ‘O’ level passes in the English language, along with three other pertinent subjects (two arts or social science subjects and Christian religious knowledge).
- Diploma in Religious Studies or Theology from London or an accredited Nigerian university is accepted at UNILORIN.

- Two ‘A’ level passes in Christian Religious Studies, Islamic Religious Studies, or Religious Studies, in addition to one pass in any other arts, social science, or science subject.
- Christian Religious Knowledge/Islamic Religious Studies, and any three other Arts/Social Science/Science subjects (or two Arts/Social Science/Science subjects plus Christian Religious Knowledge or Islamic Religious Studies) are required for five ‘O’ level passes.
- Diploma in Religious Studies or Theology from Ibadan, London, or another Nigerian university with accreditation is accepted at UNILORIN.
- ND/NCE in Islamic and Christian
- Applicants who satisfy all other UME entry requirements but lack Christian Religious Studies or Islamic Religious Studies may be considered for admission by the university.

- An additional five ‘O’ level credits are required, comprising Literature in English, one Arts subject, and another Arts of Social Science subject.
- Literature in English, English Language, and three additional Arts/Social Science subjects are prerequisites for direct entry.
- UNILORIN also grants NCEs for majors in English.

- A minimum of two ‘A’ level grades in government or history, in addition to any other arts or social science subject
- Five ‘O’ level passes, consisting of English, History/Government, and any three subjects from the Arts or Social Sciences (History/Government plus two subjects from the Arts or Social Sciences).
- Accepting the Government in Place of History, UNILORIN
- Government/NCE (Merit Pass) History. major in nature.
- A Diploma by Merit in Administrative Management, Conflict Resolution, Law, Mass Communication, Public Administration, and Industrial Relations, or a History/Government degree with a minimum of a merit pass or its equivalent.
ISLAMIC STUDIES
- A minimum of two ‘A’ level passes, with Islamic Religious Studies and any other arts or social science subject included.
- Five ‘O’ level passes, consisting of Arabic or English Religious Studies and Islamic Religious Studies, or two other Arts/Social Science subjects with Islamic Religious Studies, are required.
- UNILORIN recognizes pertinent diplomas from Bayero University, Kano (which fulfill the Direct Entry requirements for both A/L and O/L courses).
- Individuals who satisfy the U.M.E. entry requirements but do not currently pursue Islamic Religious Studies may be eligible for consideration for admission to the 100 level.
- The study of linguistics
- Two ‘A’ level or NCE passes, with at least one of them being an African language, and two subjects from the arts, social sciences, or sciences.
- Five ‘O’ level credits, consisting of one English language pass and three subjects from the Arts, Social Science, or Sciences (two of which must be in the sciences or arts)
- UNILORIN recognizes the Linguistics Diploma.
- A minimum of one ‘A’ level or NCE subject in Science, Arts, or Social Science is mandatory for admission to UNILORIN, with the exception of one subject in Social Science.
PERFORMING ARTS
- A minimum of two ‘A’ level passes in the following subjects: Fine Arts, Music, English Literature, or any other area of the arts, social sciences, or sciences
- Five ‘O’ level credits, including English Language, English Literature, and any three Sciences, Social Sciences, or Arts subjects (one Art subject and two Sciences, Social Sciences, or Arts subjects).
- NCE passes with a concentration in English, Music, Fine Arts, or Applied Arts at the merit level.
- At the credit level, UNILORIN mandates that candidates at the ‘A’ level pass English and Lit-in-English.
- Diploma in Fashion Design, Law, Theatre Arts, Dramatic Arts, Journalism, Architecture, Environmental Design, or
- Mass Communication.
- Diploma holders in Theatre Arts or Dramatic Arts are required to earn a passing grade of credit in Literature-in-English at UNILORIN.
YORUBA
- A minimum of two ‘A’ level passes are required.
- Five ‘O’ level credits are required for graduation, consisting of Yoruba, English Language, and three additional Arts/Social Science subjects (Yoruba and two additional Arts/Social Science subjects).
- Yoruba and Social Science NCE/Diploma (Upper Credit) candidates are accepted at UNILORIN.
- Candidates who meet all other UME entry requirements but do not speak Yoruba (Language/Literature) are accepted into UNILORIN.
COLLEGE OF HEALTH SCIENCES
ANATOMY
- A minimum of two A-levels in the following subjects (Chemistry, Physics, or Biology) are acceptable beyond the UTME prerequisite.
PHYSIOLOGY
A minimum of two A-Levels in the fields of biology, chemistry, and physics, selected in addition to the UTME prerequisite.
MEDICINE AND SURGERY
- A-Level qualifications in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
- Sc. (Upper Second Class Honours) in pertinent disciplines
NURSING
- Certificate of Registered Nursing (RN) in addition to UTME prerequisites.
- Two or more ‘A’ Levels in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics, in addition to the minimum UTME score, are mandatory.
- Institution of Agriculture
FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE
Chemistry and at least two A-levels in Economics, Physics, Geography, Biology/Botany/Zoology/Agric Science, and Geology/Mathematics (Pure & Applied) are required.
EXPANDING AGRICULTURE AND FOSTERING COMMUNITY
A minimum of five O-level WAEC, SSCE, or GCE Credits in the following subjects, with no more than two sittings, are required: English Language, Mathematics; three credits must be earned from each of Biology or Agriculture, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, Economics, Food and Nutrition, and Home Management.
Students who possess an HND or its equivalent in Agriculture or a closely related discipline, including Animal Husbandry, Agricultural Extension and Rural Sociology, Agricultural Economics and Farm Management, Food Science, Home Economics, Fishery, Forestry and Wildlife, and more, and have earned a minimum of lower credit from a recognized institution, will be granted admission to the 300 level program.
AQUACULTURE AND FISHERIES
- Physics, Economics, Chemistry, and Biology at the A-level level, with a minimum of a passing grade in any of these subjects.
- OND/ND with a minimum of a lower credit grade in Fisheries, Agriculture, or a related field; in addition, five ‘O’ level credits in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Fisheries, or Agriculture.
- Science and any discipline besides economics, geography, and physics.
- HND in Fisheries, Agriculture, or a closely related field from an institution accredited by the NBTE.
