Based on available documentation, he opted to discontinue his studies at the University of Jos during his junior year and subsequently earned a Bachelor of Technology and Office Management from Lead City University.

Skales transferred to Lead City University during his junior year, where he earned a degree in office management and technology. His critically acclaimed debut single “Must Shine” was released first.
Skales defined himself in a 2013 interview with the publication This Day as an entertainer whose music is inspired by his environment. His 2009 album “Heading for a Grammy” drew inspiration from “Jesus Walks” by Kanye West.

2009 saw Skales sign a record contract with E.M.E. following a meeting with Banky W. The singles “Mukulu” and “Keresimesi” were released concurrently by him. Both songs were published under the label that Sarz produced.
Clarence Peters directed the music video for the latter composition, which was published on YouTube on November 28, 2011.

Houston, Dallas, Toronto, Vancouver, New York City, Providence, Calgary, Atlanta, Washington, DC, and Chicago were among the locations where E.M.E. acts were performed.
In 2012, Skales provided support for Wizkid during his London tour. He appeared at the 2013 iteration of Felabration, an annual concert honoring Fela Kuti, on October 17, 2013.
The Vanguard newspaper reported in February 2014 that Skales had departed from E.M.E. after his four-year recording contract expired. E.M.E. executives declined to renew his contract on the grounds that they were not receiving compensation for their investment in him.
OHK Music was the record label that Skales founded in May of 2014. The record label accommodates producer Drey Beatz and maintains associations with additional music professionals in Nigeria.
“Shake Body,” produced by Jay Pizzle, was unveiled as the primary track from his inaugural studio album, Man of the Year, on May 6, 2014. On July 22, 2014, the accompanying music video for the song was uploaded to YouTube.
Skales announced the Shake Body video competition in order to promote the song. Skales reportedly entered into a recording agreement with Timaya’s Dem Mama Records subsequent to his separation from E.M.E.
