In February, Nigerians lauded Ruth Kadiri for introducing young actors to the public through her YouTube streaming platform after an X user, Chude Nnamdi, drew Nigerians’ attention to the reality that Ruth Kadiri is not receiving sufficient credit for introducing the young actors to the world.
Ruth had issued a message to film critics the previous year stating that their criticism did not concern her. She remarked that she had received numerous complaints from individuals regarding the predictability of her films.
Drawing a parallel between her films and those of Hollywood, she elaborated that despite the predictability of Hollywood and other foreign films, audiences continue to watch them. In addition, she had issued an SOS message to her coworkers and screenwriters discouraging the use of main actors to direct a film.
She implored them to decrease the prominence of the lead casts and elevate other cast members in the film, and cautioned them against encircling the lead casts with diverse themes in order to elevate the quality of the supporting casts.
