3. Mode 9
Babatunde Olusegun Adewale, sometimes referred to as Mode9 or Modenine. He is a Nigerian rapper of English descent. On June 14, 1975, Mode9 was born in London. He is the third kid born to Osun State-born parents. He attributes his passion for hip-hop to Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five.
He co-wrote the song “Super Human” with Jamaican-American rapper Canibus in 2014. In addition to graduating from Federal Polytechnic in Bida, Niger State, Nigeria, with a degree in building technology, he attended Agboju Secondary School. Mode9 has received nine Headies in total.
4. 2Face Idibia
Known as 2Baba or 2face, Innocent Ujah Idibia is well-known.To put it mildly, 2baba is a Nigerian singer, musician, songwriter, record producer, businessman, humanitarian, philanthropist, and activist.In all, he has received eight awards.

5. Davido
Singer, songwriter, and record producer David Adedeji Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, is of Nigerian-American descent. He is among Africa’s most well-known artists.

6. MI Abaga
MI Abaga, also referred to as Jude Lamfani Abaga. He is a musical producer and rapper from Nigeria. He gained notoriety in 2006 when Jos, Nigeria, heard his song “Crowd Mentality.”

7. P-SQUARE
Peter Okoye and Paul Okoye make up P-Square. The twins were born on November 18, 1981. Peter and Paul Okoye, who went by Psquare at the time, were the first artists to receive the Artist of the Year award. This was the first-ever Headies award ceremony held in Nigeria.
An quarrel on Jude Okoye’s role as their manager led to Paul and Peter Okoye’s 2017 breakup, which was attributed to their older brother. However, the brothers’ five-year estrangement was ended in November 2021, much to the joy of their followers. Together, the pair has won six Headies.
8. ASA
Also known as Bukola Elemide, is a French-Nigerian singer, songwriter, and recording artist who was born on September 17, 1982. Asa was born in Paris to parents from Nigeria who were studying cinematography in France while working.
When her daughter was two years old, her family moved back to Nigeria. Asa’s father was a cameraman, thus the amazing music he had accumulated for his career became a bigger source of inspiration for her throughout the years.
When Asa launched her first album, Christophe Dupouy was involved and she was signed to Naïve Records in collaboration with Cobhams Asuquo. Her first singles, “Eye Adaba” and “Jailer,” went viral.
