This article examines the minimum requirements for admission to state universities in Nigeria. However, before we proceed, allow us to list some of the State Universities in Nigeria & their Cut Off Mark
1. Abia State University (ABSU)
ABSU was established in 1981 and was initially under the jurisdiction of Imo State University. However, with the formation of Abia State in 1991, the Uturu campus of Imo State University was transferred to Abia State.
As Abia State University, the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine was incorporated onto the Uturu Campus. At present, the University is providing degrees at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels.
2. Kaduna State University
At the time of its establishment in 2004, Kaduna State University was comprised of seven faculties and thirty-nine departments. Arts, Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Social and Management Sciences, Environmental Sciences, and Agriculture are among the faculties.
3. (UMYU) Umaru Musa Yar’Adua University
In 2009, the institution underwent a name change from its previous appellation, the Katsina State, to Umara Musa Yaradua institution.
Social and Management Sciences, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Humanities, Faculty of Law, and Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences comprise the institution’s five faculties.
Master’s and Postgraduate Diploma degrees are offered by the postgraduate program at UMYU.
4. Taraba State University
Taraba State is the location of Taraba State University, which was founded in 2008. The university provides courses in the following disciplines: engineering, art, management, agriculture, and social sciences.
5. Plateau State University
The university, which was founded in 2005 and is situated in Bokkos, Plateau, offers courses in Applied Sciences, Arts, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, and Management, among others.
6. Borno State University
Borno State University is among the most recent NUC-accredited state universities. Admission has been granted to 118 pupils in total, and the university is projected to begin classes in 2018.
The curriculum includes courses in the fields of law, arts, agriculture, medical science, and veterinary medicine, among others.
7. Kebbi State University of Science and Technology
Kebbi State University, situated in Aliero, Kebbi, was founded in 2006 with the intention of granting admission exclusively to residents of Kebbi State. The university provides courses in the fields of science, education, engineering, and agriculture.
8. Nasarawa State University
The location of Nasarawa State University is in Keffi, Nasarawa State. Annotated among the courses provided are accounting, agronomy, finance, and agriculture.

9. Eastern Palm University
Eastern Palm University, situated in Ogboko, Imo State, was founded in 2016 by the Imo State Government with the objective of attaining world-class status.
The university’s mission is to cater to the research requirements of all pertinent individuals, regardless of their gender, nationality, religion, or political affiliation.
Biochemistry, physics, sociology, literary studies, philosophy, computer science, and other disciplines are among the courses offered at EPU.
10. Northwest University
Northwest University is a Kano State state university. The academic division is comprised of the following faculties: Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, Faculty of Clinical Sciences, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Environmental Sciences, Faculty of Humanities, Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Faculty of Law, School of General, Entrepreneurial and Remedial Studies, School of Postgraduate Studies, Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Faculty of Science.
11. Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University
IBB University is a Niger State state university. Management, Islamic studies, economics, agriculture, animal science, psychology, and Arabic studies are among the courses provided. Recently, the university granted approval for the development of its medical college.
