During an interview on a podcast with Joey Akan, the Nigerian singer Oxlade had much on his chest. The singer disclosed that he entered rehabilitation after a recording capturing his private moments with a woman surfaced.

He stated that his stay in rehabilitation was not motivated by the criticism he received after the tape was made public, but rather by his mother’s voice, which was obviously filled with disappointment in him.

Although the singer claimed otherwise, Oxlade’s biological mother is in fact his grandmother, who has cared for him since he was a young child.
