On December 21, 1985, Seyi Shay was born into the household of Mr. and Mrs. Oluwaseyi Odedere. She was born and reared by Nigerian parents in Tottenham, London.
Her mother is of Northern Nigerian descent, while her father is an accomplished native of Ife, Osun State, located in the South West region of Nigeria.
Born into a family of four, Seyi Shay has three older siblings, consisting of two brothers and one sister. By the way of their single mother, she and her siblings were reared.
