Funke Akindele, an award-winning filmmaker and Nollywood actress, has dedicated her latest film, A Tr!be Called Judah, to her late mother, Dr. Adebanjo Akindele.
Kemi Filani reported that on Sunday, December 10, the actress held the premiere of her highly anticipated film, which was attended by a large number of personalities.
She disclosed at the premiere that she authored the film’s screenplay without being aware of her mother’s impending demise.

She expressed enthusiasm for the film’s plot, noting that she penned the screenplay prior to the demise of her mother in February. She implored the audience to watch the film and share it with others, dedicating it to her mother, and added that it is crucial for practitioners to collaborate and stand united.
“This story is so passionate. It is dedicated to my mum, who passed away in February. I didn’t know my mum was going to pass on but I wrote the story, but she is gone now, thank God. I want you all to enjoy the movie and pass it on”.
At the premiere of the film “A Tr!be Called Judah” on Sunday evening, the entertainment industry’s crème de la crème gathered.
Not to be outdone, Funke held a grand premiere party for her most recent production. A multitude of celebrities representing diverse sectors of the entertainment industry graced the occasion in honor of the filmmaker. Hilda Dokubo, Faithia Williams, Ini Edo, Phyna, Shaffy Bello, Adunni Ade, Odunlade Adekola, Femi Adebayo, Ruth Kadiri, Juliana Olayode, and Ali Baba were among the notable guests.
In addition to Faith Morey, Tomike Adeoye and Sheggz and Bella, Ini Dima Okojie and Sharon Ooja, Uti Nwachukwu and Boma, Most Abebe, Priscilla Ojo, Etinosa Idemudia, and Hilda Dokubo were in attendance. Kiekie and Yomi Dunn, Taaooma, Mercy Eke and Timini Egbuson were also in attendance.
“Costume Party Extravaganza” was the theme of the evening, and several attractive women, including Mercy Eke, Juliana Olayode, Faith Morey, Ali Baba, Alesh Sanni, and Phyna, comprehended the assignment.
Funke expressed gratitude to God for the triumphant premiere and thanked her family, friends, and colleagues for attending the celebration in a note of appreciation.
A thriller titled Judah tells the tale of a group of young males who, with their mother’s assistance, scheme to steal a small shopping center. “However, upon arrival, they encounter armed robbers.”
The film is scheduled to debut on December 15, 2023, and will feature Olumide Oworu, Jide Kene Achufusi, Timini Egbuson, Uzee Usman, Tobi Makinde, and Funke Akindele, among others. The star-studded cast will comprise the film.
