In November 2022, it was revealed that Davido covertly married Chioma following the death of their son. The traditional ceremony, which took place at his father’s residence, was attended by a relatively small number of family members and prohibited the use of cameras. Chioma’s bride price was fully paid.

Davido ultimately paid Chioma’s bride price (Umunna) in full at Ezeala Odu, Imo state, in January 2023. The Umunna rites and umuada rites were observed being performed by Chioma’s father in photos and videos that were posted online.
In an interview conducted in March, he declared that he is blissfully married and displayed his wedding ring. During his pause, he disclosed to his audience that he had married.
