Dr. SID, also known as Sidney Onoriode Esiri, was born in Ikeja, Lagos State, Nigeria, on May 1, 1980. Justus Esiri, a highly regarded Nigerian actor, was his father, whereas Omiete Esiri, his mother, was a prominent businesswoman.

His place of origin is Urhobo, which is situated in Delta State, which is situated in the southern region of Nigeria. The name of his sibling is Andrew Esiri.

As part of the Da Tribe, DR SID debuted in 1999 as a choreographer for Tribesmen. Among the notable artists with whom he collaborated were Timi Dakolo, Freestyle, eLDee, 2Shotz, Sasha P, Del P, KB, and Freestyle.

Together they produced the number-one single OYA. He formed enduring friendships and collaborative partnerships with JJC Skillz, 419 Squad, R70, Kas, Felix Duke, and D’banj during his master’s studies in the United Kingdom.

Upon finishing his academic pursuits, DR SID returned to Nigeria, where he entered the National Youth Service Corps in Yola, Adamawa State, where he labored at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital LUTH.
