Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has come under fire on the internet. Following her announcement today as the newest member of the All Progressive Congress by the APC women leader.
The movie actor formally defected from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to the African Progressive Party (APC), having run for governor of Rivers State this year.
Tonto Dikeh was formally welcomed to the party when the news was announced in a statement on the party’s Twitter page.
At the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, Dr. Mary Allow, the National Women Leader of the party, formally unveiled the movie actress.
Tonto Dikeh, the latest @officialAPCNg member, will be officially unveiled by the APC National Women Leader, Dr Mary Alile, today by 3 pm at the APC National Secretariat, Abuja, Nigeria.

The actress’s move to APC caused a stir online as many dragged her for joining the leading party.

Remember, Tonto Dikeh surprised a lot of people a few months ago when she declared her intention to run for governor of Rivers State?
However, the actress was chosen to be Rivers State’s African Democratic Congress candidate Tonte Ibraye’s running mate.
More so, she boasted about her flawless leadership abilities during a detailed discussion of her political career in an interview with Channels Television.
Sadly, she never got a chance to run for office because she gave up her seat to another party against the advice of political establishment figures.
