The award-winning musician Davido has finally responded to claims made by his colleague Dammy Krane that he owes him money.
Two days ago, Kemi Filani said that Dammy Krane, who asserts that the singer owes him following their successful collaboration on the song “Pere,” had made an appeal to the wealthy musician, pleading with him to settle his obligation for the benefit of his daughter.
He pleaded with him to at least take his daughter into account, as she has school expenses to cover.
Davido criticized him for the claims on Twitter, which is now known as X, and pointed out that he was never compensated for the three verses he sung on Dammy Krane’s song nine years prior.
He described how, while the musician was homeless in Atlanta, he was housed by him and grew irritated with him throughout his stay.
“I was never compensated for it. I’ve also given you all of your deceased career’s three verses. Yes, in addition to my royalties, which we currently charge at $150k x 3 per verse, you also received food and house rent while you were destitute and resided in my Atlanta home.
Online users have taken issue with Davido’s response, accusing Dammy Krane of being ungrateful.
“But if you accommodated someone when they didn’t have a home,” wrote a person named Sharon Plang. Is it an excuse for not paying them for the work they completed?
“Another angle, so now it’s silence from Dammy forthwith,” wrote one Inumidun.
“Ow owe one indeed,” wrote one Hrh King Diamond. Silence would have been preferable.
Re Wade Worldwide wrote: “You see, he said nothing because I think you guys will believe the other side.” That’s why it’s beneficial to hear both viewpoints.
Just one “Dammy Krane bring receipt come out,” the Kiki wrote. If you do not have a receipt, you cannot be phoning people like you owe them money.
Elisha Jboy wrote, “Being wicked really pays off.” People are inherently ungrateful. They will never forget all the good things you did for them, but they will always remember the one nasty thing you did. Keep being wicked; it is the best and goes a long way.
Remember how Dammy Krane said last year that Davido hadn’t paid him for their smash single Pere at the time?
Over the years, Dammy Krane disclosed that he had contacted the artist, but he had not received a response. He went on to say that he had no wish to criticize the musician in public.
Dammy Krane, taking their battle to the next level, mockingly released an official image of the 30BG.
In addition, he had pulled Tekno, a coworker, into the altercation by asking if Davido owed him anything.
Unexpectedly, Dammy claimed that Davido had dispatched his men to beat him up, and he had even released pictures to support his claims.
I never got paid for that also my 3 verses I’ve gifted you all your dead careeer … .. oh yea plus my royalties , we charge now so that’s about $150 k x3 a verse.. also house rent and food when when u stayed in my house in Atlanta when you were homeless .. ⏳ https://t.co/ZBJPYDGc7V pic.twitter.com/z6IwfiVPb9
