The minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, on Thursday said it is the duty of Asuu to indemnify Students for the wasted time in the spell of the six-month strike and not the Federal Government.
He also said the government will not give in to the union’s demand for their honorarium for the six-month of the academic shutdown.
Adamu recommended that Students should sue Asuu to court to claim “damages” Sustained Over the strike period.
The minister of Education discussed this at the 47th session of the state house ministerial symposium organized by the presidential communications team at Aso rock Villa, Abuja.
According to him, the federal government bears no incrimination to indemnify millions of students stagnated for six over months over lost time.
He added in a press briefing:
“I categorically tell you that all unions will suspend their strike in the next one week except for Asuu which I’m not sure because of the offers they presented which one of them is that they should be paid salaries for the six months they didn’t work and i told them ‘NO’.
